How I tested:

To make matters worse, the two-year warranty has expired, and Dyson support refused to repair or offer any solution. I'm shocked that no one can even assess the issue or provide repair options. Especially for curly and coily hair, it's important to be able to straighten from the root; something the Airstrait's design doesn't allow for. This bulky component might be built with safety in mind, but my goodness it's an eyesore. On the plug are test and reset buttons to offer ground fault protection, which accounts for the seriously powerful engines whirring away inside the Airstrait.
